Online OSHA Safety Training Salutes US Army Basic Training-Fort Benning Georgia

From time to time, we consider it not only an honor but also a national duty, to salute the men and women who fight and protect this great country so that all of us can continually experience freedom at its very best. Online OSHA Safety Training appreciates all that the four branches of the United States Military does and on a perpetual basis, to let freedom ring.

Fight On!

We understand, that the state of the US economy, as well as the political in fighting that currently and unfortunately has lead to civil unrest in this country, is sometimes hard to cheer for and support. The goal that we live and breathe by here at this safety training site and firm has been and will always be safety first, everything else second. The United States Army looks at soldiers in their care, custody, and control, with the same safe attitude. Being safe on the battlefield saved countless lives and being safe in the workplace saves lives and increase profits as well.

Benning, Georgia is where US Army recruits are sent to learn all about the ways of the American soldier. Strap on your cover and get ready for some mental PT!

Understanding Army Boot Camp

The oldest branch of the US Military is the United States Army. Heralded the world over, as the best-fighting unit, man for man ever assembled, the Army has many expectations, that it must upheld, and this correlates to every single individual soldier, that wears the Army ‘green’. The Army starts molding the new-recruit, which will soon become a complete and unwavering fighting soldier, at one of several United States Basic Training Forts. The most-popular and the most-feared, of all the Army forts for basic training, is Ft. Benning, Georgia. The new recruit is transported, by bus, to Fort Benning, where the Army boot camp experience, begins. For the next nine weeks or so, Fort Benning will be home to the recruits, as they progress towards ‘grunt’ status, in the United States Army.

Fort Benning Georgia: First Stop

As with any other United States boot camp or basic training program, the United States Army Basic Training Module, is tough, and will physically, as well as mentally, prepare the soldier, to defend his or her own country, the United States of America, with their very life, if need be. This is why basic training in the United States military is so important. Many feel that it is the military’s mindset to break down the individual soldier and turn the grunt into a functional and order-taking, non-thinking, clog in the military machine. The truth of that, although basically a reality for all military units, involves something else, as the goal of any Army boot camp experience, will soon be seen through the eyes of the new recruit. That goal is to train the soldier to fight. That is what a graduate of the United States Army Basic Combat Training in Fort Benning, Georgia, learns to do and do well.

Getting Ready for Initial Entry Training in the United States Army

There are many mental images and fears that run through each and every head of the recruit that is heading to Army boot camp. This is only natural and to be expected. The emotion of fear can be a great motivational tool, especially for those that have enlisted in the United States Army and are heading to nine weeks of life-altering, civilian life-dismissing, soldier evolutionary-training, in the Deep South. There are many things to expect, while in boot camp, for the average soldier to consider. The first and most important aspect to recall is that the United States Army is now not only mom and dad, the Army is now the sole-owner of the ‘military unit’, earlier known as John Smith. John Smith is now Pvt. Smith, and for the next nine weeks, upon satisfactorily passing of all the graduation requirements of BCT (Basic Combat Training), and Advanced Individual Training or AIT, will be known as a ‘Soldier’ in the United States Army. The soldier can be called a ‘grunt’ and this is normally only by the fellow grunts.

What to Expect During BCT

Basic combat training is divided into three phases red, white, and blue. Each phase is designed to initiate self-discipline, and each phase must be completed, before moving on to the next phase, within the BCT program. Strenuous physical fitness and mental acuity is what basic training is all about in the United States Army. There is no room for error, as error is equated to not paying attention in the United States Army. Not paying attention can get a soldier killed, and remembering that Soldiers go to war to kill and not to be killed, will assist the new recruit in graduating Fort Benning, Georgia BCT. One of the best mindsets to have when learning about what to expect at BCT and subsequently AIT, is focus and determination. A typical starting point for all recruits entering Fort Benning, Georgia, for BCT training, is meeting their drill instructors otherwise known as ‘DI’s. Recalling the many famous movies about Army DI’s, the new recruit should have no ‘mis-identification’ of exactly what it is the DI is attempting to create during boot camp. The Drill Instructor is hard and the Drill Instructor is in no way, friendly. Once again, realizing that death is a common occurrence in war, that strict self-discipline and the ability to listen to orders, is a major essential factor of the success of the battalion. Army boot camp is not a party or a social club get-together. It is an intense, physically-demanding, and mentally-exhausting, United States Army modality that is designed to take away the freedoms of civilian life and instill the rigors of a soldier’s world. By graduating BCT and AIT, and becoming a ‘Soldier’ in the United States Army, the benefits to both soldier and country, are exponentially multiplied.
