Colorado ‘Epic’ Fire Needs OSHACampus 10 Hour Safety Training Course

The epic fire in Colorado, that is still not under control, but getting there, has impacted over 350 homes, and forced 35,000 residents to evacuate the area. The Waldo Canyon Fire near the densely populated hub of Denver, has now been primarily ‘roped-off’ according to authorities in the area.

It should go without saying that there is a desperate need for trained and registered First Responders to this fire-ravaged area. The OSHACampus 10 Hour Safety Training course will be the first step for anyone that desires to help clean up the torched areas of this beautiful state.

The Colorado Springs wildfire has continued to scorch the region on the borders of Colorado's second-largest city for a ninth straight day. It has destroyed so much of the forested areas of Colorado, that it is unclear when the state will return to some semblance of normality.

The Waldo Canyon Fire is now by far the most destructive on Colorado record, already devastating almost 100 more homes than the much larger Fort Collins Fire to the north of Denver, which has destroyed 257 homes.

Hot and high winds have caused further difficulties for the more than 800 firefighters trying to tackle the fiery blaze. Despite the early damage assessments, it is currently impossible to tell with any certainty the precise extent of damage, as the flames are so intense and the smoke so thick making an accurate analysis extremely difficult.

In addition to Colorado, nearby state have also felt the heat of this dramatic fire. Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Utah all have wildfires spreading, and in Colorado despite firefighters working through the burning night, the wildfires were only 35 percent contained by Monday morning.
If you need more information, concerning what is necessary to go to these states and lend a much-needed helping hand, please log onto the safety-training site at http://www.onlineoshasafetytraining.com.
G-d bless all of these people affected by this devastating fire.

Custom Safety Plans Benefits All Concerned at North Florida Workplaces

Online OSHA Safety Training – Jacksonville – Florida

The rain kept coming down and it looked as if most of the lower-lying areas of the First coast, would have to evacuate. For a good part of the night of the 26th of June, 2012, the residents and the business owners of Jacksonville, Florida were up and watching the weather reports about Tropical Storm Debby.

Debby soaked North Florida before finally filtering off into the Atlantic Ocean. When the rain stopped and people were able to take a toll of their property and overflowed retention ponds, that now looked like small lakes, the damage was self-evident.

One firm, with deep ties to the Jacksonville community, is Online OSHA Safety Training. Taylor Tremor is a seasonal resident with a home office in Mandarin. His primary duties are to monitor and report on the construction and general industry sectors in the North Florida area.

When a natural disaster strikes, such as the rain-soaking storm Debby, it is imperative that Online OSHA has a contact in the area, and this is why Taylor has been living and working in Jacksonville for over 21 years.
Once the storm passed and it was once again safe to transverse the roads of Duval County, Mr. Tremor, along with his able-bodied and storm-savvy staff of safety training associates, set out to deliver the message that the drenched area needed, Custom Safety Plans saves lives and property.

If you want to learn more about enlisting Online OSHA Safety Training as your personal Custom Safety Plans provider for your company, please call or log onto the site listed below. Taylor Tremor will be the one to connect you with the best resources for establishing a workable and affordable plan, when the next Storm of the year comes roaring through your community.

Onsite OSHA Safety Training Made Jacksonville, Florida a Safer Place to Work

Jacksonville – Florida – Chamber of Commercial Workings

A decade ago, when you drove through the largest city in Florida (Jax), one glaring eye-sore made you wish that you were already fishing in Miami and far away from the Bold New City of the South. It was the perpetual road construction that seemed to go on forever and was unsafe for the workers that toiled on these sites in Jacksonville.

We caught up with a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Tim Spencer, recently and this man was all too happy to share with us here at Online OSHA Safety Training, his own trials and tribulations, as a construction worker on I-10.

“The work day started at 5:00 am and continued until well into the dark of night.” Tim said over a bagel and a cup of Joe at Ronnie’s Breakfast Nook on the south side of town. Mr. Spencer was employed with Straightway Road Construction from 2002 to 2008 and saw his fair share of accidents and even a sole fatality in his 8-years of working on the construction projects that dotted Jacksonville during his tenure.

“The truck was going so fast that all we could do was to dive out of the way and one worker was a tad bit slow and that slowness costs him his life.” The slow worker was Billy Tiller and after his family won a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of that semi-trailer, the OOST onsite training team was called in to teach a class on construction ‘pass-through’ safety.

The course allowed the construction workers toiling on the construction sites on I-10 to feel safer and accidents dropped to zero in 2005. “We miss Billy something awful but his death was not for naught as the rest of us were able to work and provide for our families as the safety issues were taken into affect by the examiners and teachers from OOST.”

Repetitive Injuries Study 2012 at Columbus Online OSHA Safety Training Office

At the home office of Online OSHA Safety Training, there is a big interest in the postures of all the team associates. Bob Malhotra, the President of the company, was doing his routine morning appreciation walk through the halls of the office here in Columbus, Ohio, and he could not help but notice the postures of most of the trainers. “I used to sneak up behind them and tap them on the shoulder and whisper “sit up” but that was getting to be too parental and not very effective.” Bob went on to say that in his 20 years of educating workers and volunteers on the importance of just sitting up as straight as possible while at work or driving, anything relating to ergonomics and safety, he has not seen such a willful disregard for the spine as of today.

Ergonomic Meetings

What Bob did was to hold a safety meeting each Monday morning and detailed the importance of a good posture. The benefits are compelling and not only are related to office work but also almost every construction and general industry sector in the United States. the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training course is great for learning how to be upright and safe while working in the office.

Ergonomic Studies Should Be Done on All Work Stations to Reduce Repetitive Injuries

The above link is to the Purdue University research paper and site that has studied the affects of a good and bad posture. Please have a look and straighten up at the same time! Your spine says “thank you!”

Online OSHA Safety Training – Revisiting the BP Gulf Oil Spill in 2012

BP Gulf Oil Spill Visit – Tremor Taylor

After returning from a visit to the now pristine and clean shores of Biloxi, Mississippi, Taylor Tremor knew what it was that this Online OSHA Safety Training VP had to do. A brief write-up on what Taylor said “Was one of the most beautiful Gulf of Mexico locations I have ever seen!”

Here is that current article by Taylor Tremor.

It was April 20, 2010 when the Gulf of Mexico was slicked-up by the BP Gulf Oil Spill. The images of oily seabirds and mucked up beaches filled our eyes and chilled our hearts. We did not realize just how much oil a drilling platform, that had been damaged by a fiery explosion, could weep into the waters of this natural wonder.

Now that I have seen with my own eyes, the dynamic, financially-invigorating British Petroleum turnaround in the Gulf, I now understand what it took to get to this point. BP did a great job in cleaning up the oil spill that they created on that fateful day in April.

I will be revisiting this very location in August of this year and will send back pictures of what the Gulf looks like at that time.

At OOST, we never let-up on being watchdogs for our fragile environment.

Sincerely,

Taylor Tremor

Online OSHA Safety Training Focuses on Workplace Fire Safety in National Fire Prevention Week

As the summer starts to really heat up all across the United States, the importance of National Fire Prevention Week comes into full view. At Online OSHA Safety Training, workplace fire safety is important business and is covered in many of the online and onsite safety training courses offered by this fine firm.

Fire Safety in the Workplace

My name is Taylor Tremor and I serve as the Safety Training Manager here at OOST. During this all-important Fire Safety week, we wanted to impress upon everyone out there who is fortunate enough to be gainfully employed. We understand that the American economy is not yet at full-strength and seemingly has a ways to go before there is a substantial increase in the amount of jobs out there in the market. When the ‘turnaround’ happens, we know that you will want to recall the importance of being safe while in the workplace in regards to fire safety measures.

Listed below, are just a couple of the Safety Training Courses that include a module in Fire Workplace Safety.

According to National Safety Council figures, commercial losses due to workplace fires in 2011 totaled more than $3.8 billion dollars. Of the more than 5,000 persons who lost their lives due to fires in 2011, the National Safety Council estimates 450 were workplace deaths.

Those numbers are entirely too high and one lost life due to a workplace fire, is one too many.

Please log into our site and feel free to peruse the Safety Training Course offerings. We appreciate your visit and if you have any questions regarding National Fire Prevention Week and what we can do to make you and your company a fire-free workplace, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Be safe!

Benefits of Onsite Safety Training to Mitigate Concussions in Football - Must Read for High School Football Coaches

In the world of organized high school football, there is a movement brewing and it is one that has been ignored far too long. Concussions, in the sport of football, have been going on and unmistakably ignored for as long as the game has been played. Thankfully, those head-banging times are over as the United States takes the lead in preventing and immediately treating concussions.

Onsite Safety Training

But what does this movement have to do with Onsite Safety Training? The mitigation of concussions in the high school football world has just been given a leg-up by a safety training site. Online OSHASafety Training has just initiated an onsite version of their entire arsenal of safety training courses. These courses are able to be gathered and initiated in any part of the United States.

Using Their Heads Safely and Properly on and off the Gridiron

The benefits of an onsite safety training course function goes far beyond that of just assisting the construction workers of this great country. The high school football field is now an area where high school ‘ball’ coaches who have taken the onsite safety training course(s), can extend that knowledge to their respective players. What this form of training will do is to show the coaches and anyone else who takes these safety courses, how important it is to use their head properly while at work or at play.

Online OSHA Safety Training - New Onsite Training ‘Smashing Success’

Columbus – Ohio

As OSHA reels out the new online OSHA 10 safety training requirements, one company above all others has made it a point to take the bull by the horns. Online OSHA Safety Training is that company and what they have done is to enact a previously under-utilized function of the training repertoire.

As Safety Manager Taylor Tremor states, “With the new online OSHA 10 requirements, we have had a surge with companies obtaining onsite safety services from our outreach trainers. We will see this surge into the 3rd quarter and from that point forward, we estimate that sales and onsite registrations will reach maximum outputs through the end of the year.”

Taylor Tremor has outlined a business model that the company has followed with great success in the realm of onsite safety training and one that will see the firm through the early beginnings of this new and dynamic safety training enterprise.

As more and more construction and general industry firms see the advantage of grouping some or all of their contracted, as well as salaried employees, in one specific area for safety training purposes, the end result will be a spike in sales for Online OSHA Safety Training.

Importance of “OSHA ACCEPTED” Wording for Online OSHA 30-Hour Construction Courses

In a perfect safety conscious world, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Those famous lines, quipped by William Shakespeare, work well in a fantastic play and a few hundred or so movies, in which the Master’s words are used, and quite prodigiously at that, but in the OSHA safety training world, there is no room for misnaming errors.

Department of Labor

The Department of Labor, which is the ruling body for OSHA, has strict requirements for online providers, when it comes to offering all of the safety training courses, including the OSHA 30 Hour Construction Course. In addition to calling a rose a rose, the OSHA courses, which are online, have to follow the OSHA outline, for the specific course. Furthermore, the course must be submitted for OSHA approval and be perpetually updated, for new requirements.

Approved and Recommended

The glaring warning sign, that all workers and OSHA safety training needing professionals must pay close attention to, is the words “approved” or “recommended”. You should know that OSHA does not allow the words to be used with any of the online courses. The only words that are allowed in conjunction with any OSHA course are   OSHA Accepted.”

Big Government is Watching?

Although this may seem like overkill and once again, Big Government getting too involved in the education principles for their own good, it really makes sense here for safety issues. OSHA needs to know that they have been given the chance to review the course content.
